After installation: getting to know your system
Handover is the start of living with your solar system. Knowing where to find its documentation and how to read its normal operating information makes everyday use easier.
Keep handover documents and report unusual behaviour to your installer.
Keep a system folder
Save the equipment list, serial numbers, warranty documents, test records and safe operating instructions. Keep the contact details for service with those records.
Ask the installer to explain any monitoring application and what the routine display readings mean.
Watch patterns, not one number
Generation varies with sunlight, weather and seasonal conditions. A single day is not enough to describe long-term performance.
If the system reports a fault or behaves unusually, record the message and contact the team. Do not open electrical enclosures or attempt live repairs.
Plan safe care
Discuss inspection and cleaning needs for your roof and local conditions with your installer. Follow the equipment guidance.
Roof work and electrical maintenance require appropriate equipment and competent people. Arrange support rather than taking unnecessary risks.
